'Local Copy' is used to copy and apply an individual adjustment from one image to another. Here is the section from the user manual:

How can I copy only one adjustment?
It is possible to deselect the adjustments copied in the adjustment
clipboard, but it is far easier using the “Local Copy and Applyâ€.
Click the “Local Copy and Apply†icon on any individual tool, you wish
to apply to another image file, and the setting will be copied to the
clipboard without the rest of the adjustments made on the image file.
How can I check the adjustments I made?
By pressing and holding ALT+ local reset icon, you will not reset the
adjustments made; you will view the image file as it looked before your
    latest adjustments.

    Hi Bill,

    thank you for your answer.
I could not find that in the german manual. I tried it the way you told me with the copy of the english manual but it did not work and so I asked here in the forum. I will try it again.

For pasting the setting you want to copy to another image you shouldn't hit the local copy adjustment again (That's what I did and what led me to think that this tool didn't work anyway). Just hit the apply settings button in the top right corner.
I would love to see a better manual than the one Phase One offers right now though. Some functions aren't mentioned at all and sometimes the way functions are explained is puzzling at least imo.

    kind regard, Michel

Sorry for reactivating this old thread.
I have problems with this key combination. It doesn´t work. If I press and hold "ALT + local reset" the adjustments all are really resetted and the selection of the actaual image jumps either to the next or sometimes to the previous image.
Anyone else with this problem ?

Of course you release the mouse button before releasing the Alt-key. I can not copy the behavior you describe. Works fine here (CO 5.1.2 Pro on Win7 x64)

I´m afraid to tell you, that today it works perfectly, independent, if I release the ALT-key first or the "local reset" button (mouse button). No idea, why it works now. The last days it didn´t so. Seems that the heat in Germany is disturbing the machines (and the user 😂 ).
So I hope, tomorrow it will work again.
