    Hi Stephan,

As far as I know there has not been a crop remembering feature in Capture One. As far as I do recall, working with different crop ratios within a serie of images in Capture One means you have to manually check each time you change an image.

Thank you Paul for the quick response!

OK, that's a situation where I'm absolutely astonished about the false memories one can have. I really believe I didn't encounter this problem in the past, but obviously it was due to my working style. Today I'm processing images of a dance event that involves a lot of cropping with different ratios going back and forth through the images. And suddenly this is a problem. It really disturbs the smooth workflow in C1 while switching between images and tweaking some adjustments. E.g. it's like having to set exposure again because it was changed in another image.

I'll rise a feature request for remembering all the crop adjustment made for an image like it's done for all other tools so a resizing can be done without setting the crop up again.

    Stefan,

If you set the crop to be Unconstrained for default editing you can retain whatever you set for each variant.

One way to work might be to create a variant for each crop of the image and colour code them. Match the colour to the appropriate process output recipe for each crop size when processing.

Between crop edits work in Unconstrained mode.

There may be some quick ways to do this if the crops are always in the same place but I suspect that will not be the case - the crop ration may be the same but not the position (or even the size) in the frame. Nevertheless you may find some ways to speed the process by making the edits for the image then applying crop A to all images (by ratio if not final position).

Select all images and create a clone variant for all of them. You should now have variants numbered 1 and 2. all the 1 variante should still be selected, the 2 variants UNselected.

Apply a colour code to the still selected "1" variants.

Now select all the variants with no colour tag. (Simple method would be to sort by colour tag. More sophisticated would be to use a filter. either way should work.

Select one of the variants that is typical of the next crop you want to make. Apply the crop. Then select all of the "2" UNcoloured tagged variants and apply the crop from the edited image. With all those variants still selected tag them with your second colour.

Of course you may still need to go through the images to makes sure the crops are in the correct places and are appropriately sized but the repositioning should be quite quick. For resizing just set the ration you are using for the colour tagged set selected and the ration will be maintained as you work through them.

Repeat the process until you run out of colours to tag with! (Or have no more crops to apply ....)

    HTH.

Thank you for this workflow. It looks rather complicated for a relatively simple problem.
As far as I remember every tool in C1 behaves the same: select a picture and every tool reflects the adjustment made so far. The crop tool shows a little inconsistency as it uses some setups which don't belong to the picture. So before resizing I have to stop and try to figure out which ratio has been set. Not so easy.
Of course I don't know if there are technical reasons behind this design decision, but I'll try my luck.
