Best and fastest way to import pictures to capture one pro
Hello,
I have a folder with about 4000+ images and would like to edit them in capture one pro (the latest version) I've noticed that with just 500 pictures the importing task takes quite a bit specially when it generates the previews now i imagine if i try to import all the 4000+ pics. What would be the fastest way to import and start editing these images?
Also i still dont understand the difference between a session and a catalog.
Thank you

Hi, Welcome to C1 world.
To get acquainted with session and catalogs check this articles:

Hope they will remove all questions that you do have, if not you are welcome to them here.
Importing to Catalog takes time and is slow because C1 is processing every image, and not just by default uses previews from RAW files, and it takes time. And unfortunately there is no way to speed it up, expect getting SSD, or more RAM, but it will work only to some point.
As a workaround you can use sessions and add to them images only you want or proccess individuall images for example from Lightroom without exporting whole collection.
