Pentax N/R default ...
I'm wondering why CO 7.1.3's default setting for noise reduction with the Pentax K-01 is 50 for both luminance and chrominance. The Pentax K-01 ... like the K-30 and K-5 II ... is extremely clean at base ISO through ISO 800. Shooting raw, noise reduction doesn't really have to be applied til ISO 1600, and even at that the noise is pretty low. Anybody have a clue?

I think you will find that the default value is set to 50 (or sometimes some other value according to the camera and the settings used for the shot) as a default from which, if required, further adjustment can be made. It's not, so far as I understand it, and amount of NR as such - just a typical mid setting for NR from which you can adjust up or down.
If you click the little "?" on the tool tab to get to the on-line help and then go to item 3 (Get a smoother image surface (without losing sharpness)) the approach appears to be descibed there.
Note that you can alter the settings to your preferred values and save them as the new default for the camera. (Down arrow on the right hand end of the tool's own menu bar).
