Fails to load images!!
I work tethered to a computer, and every now and then I get an error box to tell me that images have failed to load.
Occasionally I don’t even get the warning it just doesn’t appear. The file has transferred to the capture folder but it will not load into the software. I then have to close Capture One and restart the software for the file to be seen.
Can anyone shed any light on this problem as it is extremely annoying!

I'm sorry, I don't know about the error you're getting. But I sometimes have trouble with the images & thumbnails not showing after applying adjustments to multiple images. Instead of exiting C1 and restarting, it is quicker for me to click to another folder, then back to my original folder. C1 then rereads the images so I can see them. Might save a bit of time. 0 -
I have tried clicking on another folder and then back to the original folder, but this does not always force C1 to read the image. I have tried to upload a screen grab to show more clearly the error box I get. But cant work out how to do this!
I also get the spinning wheel indicating that processes are going on the background, most of the time.
Again very annoying. HELP!!0 -
Regarding load failures: a probable cause is either a corrupt raw file or a corrupt preview file. Solution: delete all preview files from the Cache\Proxies sub folder. If the problem persists, move 50% of the images to the Selects folder (or any folder) of your session and see which folder has the issue. Move images (50% of remaining) back/forth until you find the troublemaker.
Regarding showing screen grab: do you have an issue with creating a screen grab or with publishing it here in a post on the forum?0 -
I would be surprised if it was a corrupt file! I create a new session for each job and shoot tethered. A few days ago approx every 3rd shot was not loading and I had to close C1 and restart C1 before I could get the file to be seen by C1.
I usually get the spinning wheel to say that activities are in progress after I take the second shot telling me it is Auto loading metadata for two images. The only way to stop the spinning wheel is to click on another folder and click back to the capture folder. Not sure if the spinning wheel is anything to do with the files not loading, I just mention it as another one of these problems.
A friend has shown me how to upload a screen grab of the problem and it can be found here http://i496.photobucket.com/albums/rr323/alanrp/Failedtoloadimage.jpg0 -

I would not, because such things can happen and your description and screen grab point into that direction. I'll wait and see whether anything comes out of further testing with different selections of images as I suggested (or otherwise).0 -
I have looked for preview files in the cache/proxies sub folder and I have none. Any raw files that fail to load will eventualy load and behave normaly after a restart. I am shooting with a p45+ back. 0 -

Are you sure you looked into the cache\proxies sub folder of your images folder? The files must be there (.cop/.cof)... 🤓0 -
I have .cop/.cof files but I was not aware that these are preview files. Are you suggesting that I delete these and let C1 re-create them? 0 -

Yes, a corrupt preview file can give the load failure, as can a corrupt image file. If regenerating the preview files does not solve the issue, it is most of the time a corrupt raw file.0 -
What causes the file to be corrupted? 0 -
I closed C1 then copied these files to another folder (just in case) then deleted the files in the proxies folder.
I then asked C1 to restart, and C1 would not restart!!
I had to shut my PC down before C1 would restart. Yet another annoying problem.0
