    John,
Either your screen resolution is not enough to display the tool or it simply needs to be reloaded.
If you move is as a floating tool, then back again to the Tab it should fix the issue.
If you go to Window>Workspace>Default, that should fix the issue.
If you remove the tool, then add it back, that should fix the issue.
If you move, collapse or remove other tools on the tab it should provide enough space to allow for expansion of this tool.

    Hi Drew,

Thanks for replying on a Saturday.

However, I've tried all you suggested, to no avail.

I wonder, did 5.2.1 move things to a higher version of OpenGL? Don't credit me with a lot of knowledge in that regard but I have struck OpenGL "video" driver issues with an imaging "plug-in" for another software.

Or is it a memory shortage problem?

This Sony Viao laptop may need replacing, me thinks.

    Best wishes,

    John

    John,
Shouldn't be any difference from 5.1.2 in that regard.
If you downgrade to 5.1.2 and the issue is resolved, create a support case and give us the specifics so we can take a closer look.

    Drew,

You will be relieved to hear it is unlikely to be a Phase One issue.

As suggested, I downgraded to 5.1.2, with no joy, and even started afresh with my original 5.1 disk. I know the latter did work, originally, but no longer. So, the problem must be with Mr Gates. I'll trawl the Vista updates from the last couple of months to see if there are any clues. Serves me right for even trying, albeit briefly, a competitive product, courtesy of Leica (grin) .. now there's a thought!

However, any further ideas would be appreciated.

    Kind regards,

    John

Try to restore the default workspace: Window menu, Workspace, Default.

In case it is a MS issue, Mr Gates would not be bothered; he left the company long time ago. 😁

Duh! He obviously knew I was coming!

    However, a development:

Having tried all the relevant workspace options, with no success, back on the default workspace, I find that ... and here I must point out that the date is not April 1st - if I detach the "Color Editor" tab from the panel and click on it (slowly) not once but twice ... I get the "Color Editor"! However, back in the panel with the rest of the tools, nada.

A bizarre video driver issue, I guess.

Anyway, thanks to Drew and Paul for their inputs.

    Solved!!

Trying to sort 6.0, I followed suggestions to set Vista font sizes to 96dpi (I had increased them to 120, due to old eyes).

I can now see the Color Editor, correctly, in the left hand side docking area.

With this and 6.0 Viewer issues, C1 on Windows appears sensitive to screen font size.

    Regards,

    John

    John,
Interesting. I'm looking into our records to see if the text size has been reported as a "requirement". Hopefully, this can be adjusted for shortly or, if nothing else, listed in the release notes to avoid these types of GUI conflicts.

It is indeed. From the Capture One 6.0 release notes:
Calibrated monitor with 1280 x 800, 24 bit resolution at 96dpi screen ruling

    Well that's OK, then.

Sadly, 96dpi renders the rest of my laptop work difficult - including drafting this reply.

I see from the 6.0 section that I'm no alone in this opinion.

    Best wishes,

    John
