?: Not getting correct file names fr. camera upload
Hello everyone,
Brand new user here. I appreciate the opportunity to interact with you!
I have Nikon cameras and shoot RAW (NEF). Ive noticed when I upload to Capture One that my filenames are not the same as the ones on the images on my CF card.
Im getting the same filename for all of my uploads and it is a filename from a previous upload.
Im sure its a pretty easy fix but I couldn't figure it out.
thanks so much for your time and expertise!
best to you,
Rick

When you import from your card, you get the import dialog box. That has a Naming section. In that you can control how the images are named. You can use "tokens" there by clicking on the ... next to the Format box. I choose to have the capture date then a space then a 4-digit counter. So the images are imported with names like 16-12-22 0023.nef instead of the name the camera gave them. Anything you type in the box rather than using a token will always be the same for each image. So if I typed Xmas followed by the 4-digit counter token, I'd get names like Xmas 0001, Xmas 0002, etc.
So make sure you delete anything directly typed into the Format box unless that is what you want. The choose the tokens you want to use. If you want them just to use the same name as they had on the CF card, then you want the Image Name token. You just drag tokens from the list into the Format box.

That's from the version 10 help, but the principle hasn't changed from v9 to v10. Click on the link for importing to a catalogue or importing to a session and you'll get detailed guidance including screenshots.
