C1 PRO trial mode won't open.
I am trying to test C1 5 in PRO mode, I get to the activation page, I select Try (in PRO mode)
I get the message it has to relaunch, when it relaunches, i get the same Activation menu page, do the same thing and it relaunches again.
Or it closes and doesn't re launch.
It works fine in the non PRO version.

Sorry about your misfortune. I have two suggestions.
One. Uninstall CO5, including preferences etc. You'll find detailed instructions here:
http://xchange.phaseone.com/home/Conten ... nguageid=1
Next, download CO5 again, install and try.
Two. In the activation/trial dialog, select the second option for data backs. If the program starts normal, end this DB activation through the Capture One menu, License, restart and try as Pro again.
Note: you might want to try suggestion 2 before 1.0 -
Thanks Paul! Tried both options but got the same result.. 😕 0 -
Also sounds like it could be a permissions issue with your machine.
First make sure your trying to install and run Capture One 5.1.1. Then Verify/Repair permissions through Disk Utility and run the same launch of the Trial. Error still exists? Create a support case and we'll take a closer look.0 -
Would love to know if you've had any joy with this as I have exactly the same problem. C1 4.8.3 LE on MacBook Pro and running fine (registered and activated). Download 5.1.1 and installed. Trial for C1 no problems. Trial for C1 Pro required relaunch with no success. Is it necessary for me to deactivate and uninstal C1 4.8.3 first? 0 -
Uninstalling 4.8.3 is not necessary.
A possible quick solution is to simply quit the software and rename the application itself. Say from "Capture One" to "Capture One_5". Once this is done the Application isn't recognized by the previous dependent files and therefore acts like it's brand new (in regard to activation but not trial). This is a great little trick if you need to deactivate the software but don't have internet access.0 -
Hmm? OSX wont allow me to rename Apps from their 'Official' name. Interestingly when I first set up my MacBook Pro I designated a dedicated Admin account which I rarely use, and for everyday work I have my own user account. When I logged out of my user account and ran the Capture One Trial for the first time on my Admin account I had no issues using either Pro or Standard on trial. So that's fine although I would love to know the WHY of it all...... 0 -

Could you rename the 'Capture One.app' with your dedicated admin account (which is a recommended practice BTW, to have two separate accounts and work with low privileges day-to-day.)0 -
Hi Paul,
No my admin account has the same issue. I can rename, show and hide extensions for all other files, just not for Apps.
Not sure whether this is normal in OSX or whether it's simply a problem with my set up.0 -
Just this minute sorted a workaround. Can't rename apps in the Application Folder, so, copied the Capture One app and pasted to my external HDD and renamed it Capture One_5. Open it from there and "Voila" I can now play around with Pro..... 0 -
It might be prudent to move the renamed app back to the local drive and Applications folder. Running from your external is not likely the best operation setup. 0 -
Thanks Drew,
Everything AOK. Simply playing around with the trial versions at the moment. The problem I now have is that Pro is just so much more to my liking than the standard version.....Darn it!!0
