Video Codecs

Is your question about codecs, about containers or about file extensions? And do you care only about preview or also about playback inside MediaPro. I think the preview is just depending on WMI support and not on MediaPro. May be just with P1 rendering (without WMI) there will be no support for video (I did not check, because P1 rendering engine is so weak).

The question is about codecs. Media Pro is able to read some Hi-Def codecs, like Apple 422, but not others, like MPEG-2. It can bring in the clips and assign metadata to them, but it is unable to play back the MPEG-2 clips. It knows how long they are, it just plays a white screen for that amount of time. Ideally, I would like to be able to preview the whole clip in Media Pro, but it would be ok if even the 1st frame was represented and then the clips could be opened up in Quicktime from the thumbnails section.
    Thanks for the reply Joseph,
