erase part of luminosity mask with tool?

    Rasterize it.

    That will give you a mask like any other mask but only for the selected Luma values and you can then edit the mask and delete the sections you do not want.

    However, if you add any new parts to the mask they will apply to the entire area being brushed in not just the originally selected Luma area.

    So it might be worth cloning the Luma based rasterised layer before editing so that you have a 'backup' layer to return to if your erasing activity is a little more successful than you intended. 😉

    Doesn't the erase tool work anyway on the luminosity mask? Once you have set the luminosity range, you can brush on more mask in other areas, and it will only cover the luminosity range you have set, or you can erase.

    Indeed it does. There is a good example on the video tutorial from Capture One on luminosity masking.

    True but I interpreted the question, perhaps incorrectly, as being for some purpose that might require a rasterized mask.
