C1 Doesn't work after update - Mac OSX Sierra
Hi. I recently updated my MacBook Pro from El Capitan to Mac OSX Sierra. Since that moment, every version of Capture One on my system doesn't work.
I have Capture One 8, Capture One 9, and the trial version of Capture One 10, all installed.
I try to launch any of them from the dock, and they "bounce" three times, then stop, and the program doesn't launch. I tried opening them from the Applications folder as well, but that doesn't seem to work anyway.
Can anybody help? Thank you very much

You have too many version installed... Why do you need 8 and 9? together?0 -

I have this habit of not delete old versions of any programs until I'm 100% sure if the newer one is free of bugs, or anything. It's a question of security, since my job depends on it. I supose now I can delete the C1 8.
Anyway, I doubt that's the focus of the problem, I have the exact same programs on another computer running El Capitan, without any issues. I wonder if it's a problem with the new Gatekeeper functions on Mac OS Sierra...
If some of you have any ideas, please let me know. Thank you very much.0 -
I think that several of us are finding it runs OK on Sierra. I suggest that you contact support. They will almost certainly get you up and running very quickly.

Most of our jobs depends on this software to work. I suggest you delete all the other versions, with the clean uninstall method. I pretty much guarantee you it will work. The combination os Sierra and C! 10 is finally really good. Not 100% bug free but it is fast and stable. And this is from some one who has been vocal about their bugs since V7
you can always re install version 9 if you don't like v 10. Just remember to clean uninstall. Seems like a trivial operation but it makes a difference, believe me0 -
Well, after all, I tried the following solutions:
- Updated MacOS Sierra to the latest version.
- Clean uninstalled everything related to Phase One, and re-installed only C1 10.
- Disabling the new Gatekeeper by a command line on Terminal.
- Opening the application via [Right click - Open], even with an administrator account.
- All of the above at the same time.
None of these solutions have worked. Capture One just don't open nor from the dock, launchpad, or applications folder.
The last horizon is formatting my entire computer... But that's the last thing I want to do.
Any ideas? Thank you so much0 -
What if you log as guest? Same problem? 0 -

Can you find anything meaningful in the Console's log? Open the Console application and then open C1. Look at the stuff that appears in the Console window.

Well, you were right! I don't know why, but with the guest account, Capture One does work. Is there any security protocol I haven't checked? Thank you so much![quote="peter.f" wrote:

I've seen no error messages there. Anyway, I think I can't decipher the console correctly... Here's the log as I open C1:0 -

It means you probably have something installed in your user account that doesn't play so well with Capture One. Of course the difficult part is finding out what this "something" is. I would contact Phase One and provide them with any console log they ask you. Good luck!0 -

Mmmm, I don't even know what I'm looking at!?
If C1 works in the guest account, it has to be something in your Library folder.
You could try moving the com.phaseone.captureone10.plist out of the ~/Library/Preferences folder and see whether that helps. (move it to the desktop or so).
If that doesn't help, you could try moving ~/Library/Application Support/Capture One/ out of the way, but don't delete it: it contains all of your recipes, presets, styles, etc. (I would be surprised if anything in this folder would prevent C1 from launching, though. But you never know…)
Cheers,
