I installed the release. With each update things keep improving. The progress bar still does not function with D800. Also the battery [gas] gage only updates if CapOne is rebooted.

On the other hand one can use the fine focus control in LV, and after a time out in LV the camera now reinitiates on its own.

I have a case with support set up and Phase One's RandD team are looking into it.

Thanks for the heads up Grant. I can't use this until there is a progress bar that works. It's a must-have for working on set. The UI for that panel looks like an afterthought. 8.1 still rocks so, Thanks!

I think this is the first update that remembered my Work Space configuration from the previous version. Nice! 😊 Capture One is a Pentaxian's dream come true as far as I'm concerned!

Actually the progress bar isn't that much of an issue...because the image shows up so fast.
I would still like to have a progress indicator, but because my connection is now impeccably stable I am not too concerned.

The fine art repro that I capture benefits from the ability to shoot while in live view...thus mirror lock up = less vibration.

I would luv to know what all of the different sounds during a LV capture mean.

Feel free to chime in if you know.

I use a Canon 5DSR and found the workaround patch found online with 8.3.1 much faster and more stable... 8.3.2 seems much slower and harder to connect the camera... not unusable, but feel I shouldn't have upgraded.

8.3.2 seems very stable so far, the only bug I still get is using Smart Folders - it often needs a C1 restart to show up the e.g 1 star selects, Red tags etc. This has been going on for ages (Mac Pro 5,1, 10.9.5), I have uninstalled / wiped files multiple times and it's currently fresh install with persistent problem. I'll create another support case too, but wondered if anybody else is getting this? Thanks

    Session or Catalog?

(and by the way, do you have a new account?)

I installed the new version of 8.3.2 and now all my catalogs are corrupted in some manner, and cannot be restored. Trouble in rivercity....

    Sessions only (haven't tried Catalogs).

Same account, I changed my login email on Phase One site and it seems like it has reset everything! Would changing it back work or any easier way to fix it? Thanks

I've had this same problem for quite some time as well. At least the last 6 updates. Even the "All Images" that is part of the program doesn't work properly without a restart.

Also since updating to 8.2.3 and the latest Yosemite when shooting tethered, images are taking about twice as long to come in. Shooting with a Nikon D810. Is anybody else experiencing long tethered import times?

I don't currently have a Phase One system, but I am considering one to record GigaPan panoramas, as large as 10 gig a pixels. Currently using several PanSonics, GX7. In addition I'm using Sigma DP3 Merrill and plan to acquire Their DSLR using the Foveon 45 mp sensor. Is there plans in future to support Raw capture from the Sigma Foveon sensor?

Foveons resolution ratings are mostly marketing fluff. It's a 15mp sensor.

Also pixels on the sensor are only one of the metrics that are essential to capturing detail. Most dSLR lenses couldn't handle 45mp even if they actually had a 45mp sensor.

If you want high res panos I would definitely look into a high res digital back. If the issue is resolution then a P65+ is 60mp and are quite affordable (relative to brand new 60mp and 80mp backs): http://www.digitaltransitions.com/produ ... ital-backs and the lenses in medium format can actually handle 60mp.

We have a few clients doing uber-high resolution gigapan with Phase One backs so if you're in the US feel free to contact us and we can save you some headaches on this journey.

I don't think that CO8 will support the Sigma cameras, not enough bang for the buck, (i.e. not enough convergence between Sigma Camera users and CO users). Now, I hope they prove me wrong.

Now, with that said, I was able to get CO to read DNG's created from the Sigma 14 (only what 3mpix) raw files, originally it could not, but when they supported the B&W Leica camera, they had to support the linear DNG file format. Now, if it still works, I can't say it has been a few years. Now, with their new Sensor, all bets are off, as trying to combine color layers with different resolutions would be a nightmare.

As noted, Sigma new DSLR's are not 45mpix, but 15mpix. It is just that each photo spot (pixel), is able to capture red, green and blue, all other cameras each photo spot only captures a single color, (mosaic style), with a calculated RGB pixel calculated from the center of 2 greens, 1 red and 1 blue pixel site.

So if looking for very high resolution, yes going with a MF camera would be best. The new 35mm high resolution ones (Canon 5dsr, Sony A7rII or D810) might fit the bill, but I do not believe currently none of the companies have lenses that do the resolution justice. Do you really need that high of resolution, or just get a longer lens (narrow angle of view), and just do more shots.

Bring back the Orange Progress Bar!

The progress bar is an important part of the set workflow. C1 8.3.2 has extremely fast tethering/rendering capabilities, but it is still necessary to see whether the RAW files are coming into the computer at a consistent pace. Hardware problems like an over-heated USB port or a bum tether cord could be slowing down the file transfer from camera to computer with no C1 software problems. The progress bar immediately indicates the problem of a slower tether, and as a tech I can start the problem-solving process faster if I know the images are coming in at a slower pace.

Please return the progress bar!! Even if it is not precisely accurate to the exact import speed, it is still useful to see when tethering.

It's been radio silence from PhaseOne for numerous requests to reinstate this much required feature. ☹️
Who made the _______ executive decision to remove it, anyways?

Yeah this quirk annoys me too. I digi in fashion & advertising and in today's market there's a lot of 50+ capture folders in a session for Lookbook / e-commerce type stuff. absolute pain processing out marked selects when the smart folders & filter selects don't work, and you're working from so many different capture folders.

Not exactly a fix, but I used to pre-setup my 'Favourites' folders by pre-dragging all the premade Capture folders into favourites... This is where I found Filtered selects tended to break down most... Now I just let CO automatically 'add to favourites' whenever I change Capute Folder. Seems to keep the Smart Folders / Filters working better then. I guess it has something to do with WHEN it generates these counts.

Have you used session templates and if so, does that work better?

I'm glad that I'm not the only one suffering with this problem. I have created a support case, and supplied a screen recording showing the exact problem. Here is a response from Support Team:

"Thank you for that video. Looks like a bug.
This might be an issue already reported though.
It looks like this is reproducable and related to favourites. Next time this happens, remove the folder from your favourites and then add it back again and see if that helps.
That should reindex your smart album and it should find all images related to it.

Sorry for the inconveniance this might cause. we are working on fixing it.
    Phase One Support"

So, it appears they are working on it, which is great news for us all!

Still doesn't fix the issue of smart folders not indexing favourites folders sadly!

Dear Phase One, the progress bar is a MUST for Nikon users! It's unacceptable that you guys continue to release updates without fixing this! We are professional users, and no matter how stable or fast the connection, I need a reliable way to ensure that all captures have come in from the camera buffer. Please fix the progress bar issue asap.

    Hi Phase One,

How is it possible that you release 8.3.2 but haven't fixed the progress bar with NIKON cameras.
I know The U.S. Congress releases Bills without even reading them, but I thought Phase One was
above the grade. Please fix this issue for NIKON users. It's completely unprofessional.

    Thank you.

    HELP!

I downloaded 8.3.2 and opened sessions with images I shot with the 5Ds... it's still not working on my laptop or tower. Pixelated thumbnails appear and then are quickly replaced with what would normally look like corrupted files (streaks of color) or just a completely black preview. I have a shoot tomorrow! 😭

Support for this camera is currently preliminary and for full RAW only. Sounds like you maybe have MRaw or SRaw files...
