Will Capture One 4 Pro be released today?
Just a question-my expectations have been very high that we would see the release on Oct 15th, yet there seems to be no info pro or con either on the Phase One web site or any of the boards. Anyone have any insight? Is today the day? I have a large job that would be a good test, but I will have to start with 3.8 if we don't see it today.
Thanks

4.5 looks and feels just great...I´m very pleased. Keeps inside a couple of functions and improvements, just those that I was hoping for.
So thanks PO 😊

Considering the response that they have apparently no problems shooting tethered with 1Ds Mk 3 i am beginning to wonder if they ever tested the 40D cameras with tetherering or if the assumed it would work (and we all know how well assumptions works anywhere 😊
And Phase, really guys, you need to update your tech support staff. The respons i got was to check if the 40D has a firewire connector (!!!?) and switch the communication settings. Neither are applicable on a 40D.0 -

No worries, it is simply that shortly after I posted I decided that I probably should not be making any promises that I have no control over. With any release there is always the chance that there will be a problem with building the release that could cause a release delay of a day or two. With so many people watching intently for the moment of release I would feel quite sheepish if we did experience such an error! 😉0 -

That supporter has been sacked 😉 . Just kidding!
In support we handle around 14000 support cases a year ranging from the very simple to the very complex... a few gaffes here and there are to be expected! 😄 Needless to say we are looking into the issue you brought forth. With a brand new product on our end we always experience new issues so it might take a little longer for us to find you solution, but we will neverthe less find one as quick as we can.
I will say that this has been one of the smoothest software launches I have seen in terms of support cases created. (knock on wood!)0 -

Yeah, that´s what I thought...just couldn´t be sure.
But I must say, that when your message was pulled out...I nearly wet my pants 😂0 -

Jon
If that is the case then I can only believe it is that people like me are not bothering with support cases - I found several problems within 5 minutes. We are just walking away and some may become product terrorists ( not raising issues with the supplier but promulgating their bad experience widely). I feel badly let down - if I had wanted Lightroom or Aperture I would have bought one of them. I bought C1 for the front end of my process up to RAW conversion - I have other, more appropriate, tools for the later steps in the workflow. C1 now has limited applicability to my needs and I have used it since the start of DSLR support.
I have a background in customer service consulting and I am afraid Phaseone support has deteriorated badly in the last couple of years or so.
