4.8.2 improvements
In addition to the release notes, 4.8.2 seems much faster at browsing networks (AFP, SMB...) and suuports manually setting the camera orientation. Database/session errors on save are much better handled as well (the user is notified of save error instead of a crash).

I noticed tethered support for all of the Canon Rebels except the new T1i. Since I am a tetherholic I would love to be able to tether the T1i as I do my 5D II and 1Ds II.
Am I missing something or is this support not there?0 -
I shot tethered today (H1 &P45+) for the first time in a long time - tethered that is - as it was still life & you can't see jack on the lcd. Yesterday I updated to 4.8.2.
I spent more time watching that bloody spinning ball thing whilst Ci fannied about doing something that I did taking the damn pictures.
I don't seem to have this problem if I load the images into Bridge & process. Could someone at PhaseOne tell me what the improvements are?
There still isn't a sliding back /stitching facility. The 'customise toolbar' option of icon & text STILL AIN'T FIXED as a known bug from about October 2008. And my daughter still can't shoot tethered jpeg on her Fuji J10. Anything else you haven't got round to sorting yet? I don't know because I tend to process through Adobe more often than not as it works, there isn't that time lag every time you make an adjustment & the guy who retouches for me on shoots swears by Adobe. This is someone who works with a number of photographers, on a number of backs and a large variety of software.0 -
Same to you David27.
I don't know if C1v4.8.2 browsing through afp on server is faster or not.
But it is still much slower on my Quad intel Mac comparing to old version C1v.3.x.x

I just update Mac OS 10.5.8
And I am glad to tell you that the files browsing is much faster now.
I have not tested developing hundred files and see if everthing slow down or not.
So far very happy now.

Glad to hear manual shot orientation finally works, sounds like I can finally delete that "style" and use the styles menu correctly. Right now I'm getting the error "Only 9 of the 52 selected variants can be auto adjusted. Do you want to auto adjust these 9 variants?" Well obviously, plus 43 others. What's with that?

Recently I got this error too. I just quit and relaunch to solve it.0 -
Yes thanks, I did that too. Sometimes also the program refuses to process all selected with a similar message. It's basically a crash with a patronizing attitude, and needs a better solution. Off to tech support to file a ticket.. Dave 0 -

Dave, do you get any feedback from phaseone support? I would be glad to hear how to solve this too.

Hi Kitty, yes although I need to have the problem repeat before they can take it further and it seems to be a random occurrence, after those first 3-4 incidents I haven't seen it again. If you're still experiencing it perhaps you could report it too if you have time as they don't seem to know anything about it.
