Questions from an Aperture user...
Former Lightroom, current Aperture user evaluating Capture One. Would appreciate confirmation or clarification of these shortcomings I've found so far. In no particular order:
1. I can designate a collection as a "capture" or "selects" collection. But once designated there's no way to remove the designation. I know you can move the designation to a different collection, but how about removing it altogether?
2. Contrary to the documentation, there's no way to reassign certain keyboard shortcuts. E.g., I want to reassign the "V" key to something else, and reassign the current two-handed shortcut for toggling the Viewer to the "V" key. I can't do it. Same for some other keys. If it isn't in a menu somewhere it can't be reassigned. Like all the keys on the Cursor bar.
3. Looks like there's no way to remove one or more keywords from a selection of images other than one-at-a-time. This one's a showstopper.
4. Is there any way to avoid duplicating images on import? I.E., is there a "Do Not Import Duplicates" feature? Also a showstopper.
5. Is there any way to import only images "tagged" in the camera like Aperture allows?
6. When importing, it looks like you can only assign Copyright and Description. Where's the ability to assign a complete set of metadata, typically in a preset?
Thanks for any help or advice regarding these questions.

4. There is no "do not import duplicates" feature in CO according to the webinar I watched last week on making the transition from Aperture or Lightroom to CO.
I don't know the answers to your other questions since I just started a trial version a few days ago.0 -
2. I think the only keys which can NOT be reassigned are the ones linked to the cursor tools from the toolbar on top, like brushes, masks, loupe etc. That's why you can't change V.
3. Keyword management in C1 is a mess, that's all there is to it.0 -
Re Keywords:
How do you create a 'bank' or 'pool' of keywords in C1, v8.3 in such a way that any of them can be applied to any other images, now or in the future, please; the only way (I'm new to C1) that I can see to work with keywords is by building a list for a specific image or set of images and assigning that list to image(s).
Can I apply keywords on import?
These are both things that Aperture 3 supports.
