Desaturated jpeg output?
Hello
I'm a first time user of Capture One Pro 7. I'm really enjoying it, but I found that my exported JPG files look very desaturated compared to what I see inside CO7.
Here's an example. First a CO7 screenshot:
And the resulting JPG:
I'm using the default options in the processing recipe, just changed the scaling. Is there any option that will make JPGs more faithful to what I see in Capture One?
Thank you in advance,
Andre

Lovely image..
On subject: Try sRGB rather than "Embed Camera Profile" for ICC Profile in the output recipe, tab Basic.

That was it! Thank you so much! 0 -
Nonetheless, I have posted about jpeg color clipping in the Mac section of this forum, although I got literally not one reaction. So it won't be an issue that many run into or even care about.
What I am experiencing, is that jpeg's are shown in CO1 in a limited color space, even if you embed a large color space as .icc profile (e.g. prophoto).
My Macbook pro high res.display (calibrated) can show colors that are well outside the sRGB colorspace in a certain part of the gamut, most noticeably vivid yellows. For that reason I like to embed prophotoRGB for my own Jpeg library and only convert to sRGB when sharing the images. Even though many people distrust large color spaces (due to the issues they can cause on systems with limited color management), the clipping of vivid yellows when converting to sRGB can be quite visible in some images. Everyone chooses their own routine, but I like to keep my images in large color spaces and know what I am doing.
Iphoto and Mac preview cán properly display jpeg images with prophotoRGB embedded, but Aperture and CO1v7 cannot. Due to the inclusion of the catalogue features in CO1, I had hoped to be able to use it also for my Jpeg libraries, but apparently not unless I accept the limitations of sRGB.
p.s. I raised a support case, but Phase one maintains that the embedded profile should be properly respected in lineair jpeg view, also when a large color space, however, it is not.

Chris, have you tried viewing the ProPhotoRGB jpegs at 100% in CaptureOne?

Hi Mogens,
Yes, but it makes no difference: Jpegs are still washed out where really vibrant yellows are concerned. ☹️

Chris,
I'm not seeing anything like this.
However, I am, suddenly, seeing a lot of advertising. Most disconcerting.

Hi Grant,
I should stress that I am on a MacBook. I am not sure whether this is a Mac issue only, or a limitation of CO1 color management where Jpegs are concerned.
