Capture one and OSX Metal support
CO next release will bring El Capitan compatibility but is it also going to take advantage of the Mac 10.11 Metal tech?

After reading a few blogs about Metal it looks like it would be a welcome change from using Open CL. I'm no software engineer so I can't really speculate but maybe they'll hold off on supporting it until CO9 to make it a worthwhile upgrade for more users. 0 -
Ars Technica's review of El Capitan also said this in regard to Metal: "Even if your Mac is on the support list, there’s a chance that it doesn’t use all of Metal’s advertised features. For example, Apple tells us that the Core Graphics and Core Animation acceleration is available only on Macs that use Intel integrated graphics exclusively. It’s not available on higher-end Macs with dedicated GPUs or in laptops that switch dynamically between integrated and dedicated graphics." I believe this limits the usefulness of Metal for 2D graphics, unless you have a Mac that has Intel Integrated graphics. See page 7 of their review. 0
