Session Album
is there any way other than drag and drop to add an image to a session album? a menu option or keyboard shortcut? with the way I have my dual monitor layout, I have to drag from far right on 1 to far left on 2. its a pain.

Create a smart Album so images with a certain criteria are populated 0 -
I can't find a criteria for 'I like it' 😂
I could tag with a colour, but I might as well just filter by the tag then, there is no point in using an album.0 -

Well you could just create an entry for "I like it" somewhere in the Meta data - Keyword or IPTC Scene for example (One that is added to a list and so reselectable easily rather than requiring entry each time you use it AND is also a selectable field in the Smart Album search.
Then you could add other selection options to the smart album and turn them on and off as you need them without having to create a new filter set each time.
As for the dragging ... have a look as Workspaces perhaps and create one that you can switch to quickly when you need to.
I also wonder if you can set your graphics card to "loop" so that you can drag right but it will appear on the left. I have sen that before but can't recall where.
Another option would be to set up a floating tool for the Library and move it to somewhere convenient.
On the other hand I think your best option, complete with keyboard shortcut, would be to use the Session 's Selects folder although in some ways that is not giving entirely the same result as associating an image with an album.
HTH.

thanks, that gives me some ideas. I hadn't thought of using the metadata, that might work. I'll have a play.
I use the selects folder functionality a lot as it has a keyboard command. makes things a lot quicker. its a shame albums don't have the ability to have a keyboard shortcut assigned.0 -
The albums, being "virtual" rather than physical, maybe don't seem to fit quite so easily with the concept of a shortcut key. (Without some potential for causing confusion!)
When I make similar selections based on a simple single criterion, I tend to colour tag images as I go through them, then filter by the colour tag, select all the results and then move in one drag operation. It's easier to do the dragging few times and preferably once, I find, even though I mostly use just a single screen.
I don't think I have ever seen the "totally satisfactory" solution to image selection and grouping on a random basis!

Create a floating tool for the Library. Move the floating tool to the place which is most convenient. Remove the floating tool when done, or collapse it to save monitor space.0
