Open your ~/Library thus: Finder --> Go --> "Option" --> Library
Then go to ~/Library/Preferences
The file you want to delete is: com.phaseone.captureone8.plist
I share your frustration.0 -

One needs to be strategic to deal with it.
What I have done is:- Turned off Metada sync with XMP sidecar once the imports from aperture are complete. AFAIK that means metadata is stored in the Catalog file database, and that's where I want it to to be.
- Avoid selecting the all images folder
- Use a separate, smaller, catalog for imports and working files
- Set preview to 2560 to limit RAM requirements
- CL for display=OFF (ON slows things down)
- CL for processing = ON
- Turned off all the providers for Image Capture
For big Jobs- Turn off antivirus
- Turn off Dropbox
- Turn off file sharing
