Can you be a bit more specific ?
Preferably open a support case and provide the raw-files as well.0 -
Were the images taken in bright sun? I took pictures of a bright red porsche in the sun, and when doing auto adjustments the images definitely came out on the orange side. (version 7.2.3) However, if I cut back on the exposure slightly, the reds returned normal (had to tweak shadow/highlights for some other areas of the picture). Also, I tried the linear curve and actually the reds stayed red. 0 -
Here is a thread from Digital Photo Review regarding the issue

Version 7.2.2 does not have the issue.
Thanks

I have raised a support case about this. 0 -
I recently worked on some x-m1 files.
You are right the reds are off. Brick red looks too orange and light.
The x-m1 profile in Capture One 7.2.3 is off. I selected the x-t1 profile for the x-m1 files and the reds come out more accurate and deep. Colors appear accurate0 -

Good suggestion, the XT1 profile does appear to work better than the X-E1 profile - reds are less orange but are still more orange than they should be. I have also tested ACR and (the dreaded) Silkypix that was bundled with the X-E1 and these give more accurate reds without having to jump through lots of adjustments.0 -
davidg: Two different results when shooting a picture of a red porsche with the X-T1: Shot JPG and RAW. First shot in a garage - The red in the JPG is right on. When processing in C1 7.2.3 with the X-T1 profile, the red appears really good on the monitor (calibrated), however, the output JPG is a bit on the orange side. The output recipe was set to use the embedded camera profile. I switched the ICC profile on output to srgb and the colors right on.
The 2nd shot was outside with bright sun. Once again the red in the JPG appeared to be more accurate, although a bit washed out because of the sun. When processing the raw file, definite shift to orange with the Fuji profiles.
Now, just for fun, I tried other ICC profiles .... used Leaf/Leafi 5/LF Portrait 4 - wow, the reds sure came out red using that ICC profile ๐ Over the top red, however, I think it does indicate that something isn't quite right in the Fuji profiles.0 -

Wow - powerful reds โ๏ธ
Bill: I have tried the XT1 profile and output to sRGB and the reds are better but on my calibrated monitor still a bit orangey. I have also tried a few other camera profiles at random and in most cases I have tried (at random) I can get a better rendition than the Fuji profiles - I guess I might have to work through them all to find the best โน๏ธ .
The X-E1 profiles posted some time ago on the DP Review site are also better than the Phase One profiles.
I agree with your comment but, from the response to my support case raised on this, Phase One appear not to. They have however given me an adjusted ICC profile to try and I will be giving that a go shortly.0
