40D CR2 support in LE 3.7.7.223 ???
First, Merry Christmas everybody with health and prosperity for 2008 !!!!
I just got my new Canon 40D but I realized that my Capture 1 LE 3.7.7.223 does NOT support the CR2 files. I downloaded the files but I cannot see them...
Is this true that version 3.7.7.223 does not support the 40D CR2 files ?
Is there a plan to support these in the existing version ?
Or do I need to have Version 4 in order to be able to work with these files ?
I saw that Capture 1 Version 4 has been released, but I did not see any update policy. Did I miss this ? Or there is simply no upgrade policy and I need to pay the entire price to be able to work with my CR2 Canon 40D files ?
This might force me to look somewhere else... although I am very happy with my LE version so far.
I would love to hear from you.
Best regards, Mihai

Mihai,
Capture One 4 is the UpGrade to LE version.
All LE owners have 1 Free UpGrade and can use this to Activate 4 installation.
Capture One 4 supports the Canon 40 D

Keith,
THANK YOU VERY MUCH for your reply, you made my day !!!
It is written on the homepage that owners of LE are entitled to a free upgrade, but I discovered this only after your reply.... too much drinking these days....
Just wanted to let you know that I used Canon's "Digital Photo Professional" for 2-3 days untill I got your reply. It was a real pain, after having used C1 LE for years now....
After I got your reply, I downloaded and activated C1 LE V4 and now I am hapily using it ! I must say I will remain a C1 user.
C1 V4 is looking much better now, it appears much like Lightroom, which I tested sometime ago. I like the new user interface very much and I did not have major issues getting this running. I just watched the instructional videos in C1 homepage and I started using it.
Definitely, for those who waited for V4 so long, IT WAS WORTH !!! At least for me...
Thank you again and best wishes !!!0
