Metadata not syncing w/ NEF files.
I cannot get metadata to be written and then re-read into NEF files with EM2. EM2 will read metadata entered with Photo Mechanics just fine and I can even see keywords that were added with EM2 in the Finder when I view the information of the file. We have been working with EM2 and NEF files for awhile and it just seemed to stop working correctly. I have tried on a couple of different machines one with 10.6.4 and the other with 10.5.8 wIth the same results.
Thanks!

1. Nothing changed Glen? (i.e. the NEF type. My D70 NEF's differ from my D90 NEF's).
2. You could try to make another RAW format (DNG) with the free Adobe DNG converter to see if the problem remains.
3. Do you sychronise with all options? (i know of some problems with the 'Include GPS fields' option) when this option is on trie again with this option off.
4. I'm willing to do some testing on one of youre files.

No, nothing has changed. I have tried files from a D90, D3 and D3x, new and old. I have not tried converting to DNG but this is not really a viable solution for us because it is not part of our workflow. I do not see an option to Include GPS Fields in my synchronize dialogue box. We are on Mac here, is that a PC option? Another strange thing that happens is when I do import annotations I loose some of the basic info like Resolution, File Type, Depth, Compression and Color Space. But that info all comes back if I rebuild the item.0 -
I do not have that option on my Mac. I made sure I had the most current version and even downloaded again from the Phase One site. I am still finding it very strange that when i do try to sync the meta-data, some basic RAW data is discarded. I know the file is being written to because the date modified changes in the Mac Finder. 0 -
I am having the same issue. I add keywords to images and sync back to the original file. The keywords disappear. I'm running the latest EM2 (2.0.2) and OS X 10.6.5 on an iMac. Most all of my files are in Adobe DNG format.
I did notice my catalog size has reached 1.7GB. I seem to recall a catalog size limitation from as far back as iVMP 3 before the Microsoft acquisition. I think it had to do with 32-bits and 2GB limits on file sizes. I wish they would release a 64-bit update that supports larger catalogs. I have nearly 40,000 image files and want a single database I can search. Lightroom 3 isn't as elegant as EM2 when it comes to some tasks around searching and annotating.0
