C1 and Photo Mechanics
Hi,
I worked previously with Photo Mechanics and Lightroom. I am thinking of switching to C1 instead of LR. I have two problems:
1) When I import a RAW file from PM to LR I normally just grab the pics and drag them to the dock on the LR symbol and the the LR import catalogue opens in LR. When I do the same with C1, C1 wants to open a new version of C1 and I get the report that there is only one instance of C1 is allowed to run. How can I manage that it works the same like in LR?
2) When I process (hope this is the right word for it) a edited RAW file as a jpg in the same folder. C1 always put a "1" behind it. Because there is a RAW file with the same name. LR did not change the filename because its a raw and a jpg.
The thing is PM stack the pictures which is necessary for my workflow. Is there an option that C1 did not rename the file?
Thanks.

That must be a C1-on-Mac feature.
C1 does however; not overwrite image files, not even JPEGs exported by C1. Are you sure there isn't already a first JPEG image in the folder when you export and get "1" appended to the JPEG filename?
I use C1 in Sessions mode and I regularly export processed images as JPEGs to the image folder just to to serve as thumbnails and previews for Photo Mechanic. So far, C1 has not appended "1" to the very first JPEG exported, the file name extension .jpg is the only difference compared to the name of the corresponding raw file.
That said, it appears to be a common wish in the user community that C1 should indeed overwrite previous exports, potentially under the control of a user selectable option at export time, or in a sticky preference setting.0
