Yeah, this is yet another of C4's wonderful "improvements"! What used to be accomplished with a simple function key is now 2 separate commands using 2 keys. Ctrl + T hides tool bar & Ctrl + B hides browser. How's that for a giant step backwards? C4 comes through again!

Of all the changes made, this is not one I would criticise all that harshly.

It is clear (as users of 1024x768 screens will ruefully confirm) that C1 V4 is really meant to be used on a fairly large display. The great majority of screens above 19" are now made in widescreen format, and, in common configurations (such as tools on the left and browser below viewer, which is what I normally use), hiding both tools and browser does not gain the user more usable viewing space on a wide screen than hiding just one.

In my configuration on my 22" monitor, hiding the only browser gives me the best use of space for both landscape and portrait formats, and has the advantage that I can still use the tools. So the present arrangement suits me pretty well.

I wouldn't mind a facility to view an image on an otherwise empty screen with a single function key. But my higher priority would be for Phase One to fix the things that affect the quality and usability of the end product, like the mess that C1 makes of image metadata, to name but one example.

I agree David. This is certainly not the most egregious problem within C4, just one of many issues not addressed or actually made worse in the "upgrade" process. The upgrade from 3.7X to 4.X should be a case study in universities everywhere on how NOT to perform on the corporate level.
