C1 not recognizing B&W scans.
This is an interesting one. Today I have been scanning a series of old prints saving as jpg's then tweeking in C1 6 and saving as FB sized images for upload. No problem till I realised that two of the latest batch had not appeared in C1. I retried several times, rebooted, closed down 6 and opened 5. Same result. A light then came on, the two files that failed were B&W. Couldn't see the logic in this but if I slip a CF card which has colour on its label under the print everything works fine. I repeated this several times to confirm. I then managed to scan and see another B&W print but it was an old one and beginning to yellow.
My conclusion any scan must have an element that is not true grayscale.

CO6 does recognize RGB images in TIFF and JPEG file format, not grayscale. Scan your B&W images as RGB, and you should be all right. 0 -
Thanks for your reply Paul.
I thought I was scanning in RGB but it now seems not. Because I was scanning a random selection of sizes I set the scanner to auto so it would auto crop saving me time. Never thought about the scanner being clever enough to change from RGB to greyscale or even that it would matter if it did. Of course some of the older discolored B&W prints fooled it into thinking they were color.
I will have to change to manual when doing B&W in future.
Thanks again.0
