It sounds you have applied an overlay, not a watermark.

Watermark is set in the process recipe, Watermark tab.

the watermark was set in the proses panel.
I have saved variants and original but still the text watermark is not visible in Photoshop I even printed a image to see if the watermark was added at the printing stage again no watermark.

    I must be missing something

It still sounds like your referencing the "Overlay".
The Watermark is in the Process Recipe.
The Overlay is in the Crop Tab.

Perhaps add a screenshot of the tool your using to help clarify.

If you are using Pro (CO Pro 7), not Express, you can choose to Export or Process your images.

Image quality wise either choice gives the same result, but the Process feature gives additional options, like watermark. In other words, I suspect you Export, and as a result your Process features are not applied.

Solution: use Process instead of Export.

I'm using Capture one 7.2.2 on pro 60 day evaluation. I have also selected process on both original and variants
maybe the evaluation doesn't support this as a feature between different software platforms ??

My New computer is on it's way, so I shall be buying this amazing software would anyone change JPG software to run with Capture One ( I run Photoshop cs3)

Nope. The Trial is full access with time as the only restriction.
Provide a screenshot so we can help understand the issue.

If you are processing to a jpg before printing that jpg file in another program then you should be able to see the watermark on screen when reviewing the jpg output.

If it is there then I cannot see how printing it through another program would make it completely vanish.

Have you tried printing in C1 and saving that extra step?

    Hi,

since the watermark is written into the output JPG or TIF file it's independant of the SW which reads or opens the file. It's there when everything was configured correctly or not, if not. And when everything is configured correctly then you'll see the images in C1 with the watermark.
To insert a watermark you go to the Output tool. Look at the Process Recipe which has the tabs Basic, File, Adjustments, Metadata and Watermark. Go to the Watermark tab. Here the default setting in "Kind" is "None". If you open that tab you'll see the options Text and Image and selecting one of these the Process Recipe will expand and show options, as for example, for the option "Text" a field where you insert the Watermark text. Below then the size and font type (including colour). Finally you'll find four sliders which define the opacity, the scale, the horizontal position and the vertical position of the watermark to insert. In my watermarked photos for example I use to work with the font size 72, an opacity of 40, a scale of 35 and a position of 48 (h and v). This is used on small 1800 x 1200 px output which is posted to the Web and provides a non obtrusive but visible insert in the lower right edge. You can define whatever you like. I've never worked with image watermarks though. Hope this helps.

It sound like you are running 2 different recipes when you run the Output process, one with a watermark and one without.

Or if not that exactly then something close to it.
