Support For Leopard? When???!!
Is there any information at all as to when we're going to be able to use C1 with OS 10.5 Leopard? Tethered shooting is out with Canon. Where's 4 PRO? Where's the support?

I have a list of at least 10 pieces of other software I use on a regular basis that are not compatible with Leopard. I would agree that Phase should have a post listing compatibility issues with Leopard so we can be aware, but why upgrade your OS less than a week after such a major update is released?0 -
Eric is right
Compatibility is a important thing to check. We in support experience this every time new operating system is released.
Our R&D dept is working on a version which is compatible.
Some of the issues we know is:
1. Installer crash upon execution.
See following knowledge base article for workaround:
http://www.phaseone.com/HOME/Content/Su ... 20-%20Main
2. Canon DSLR camera does not tether under Mac OS 10.5
Workaround is to revert to 10.4.10 or to use Canon software
http://www.phaseone.com/HOME/Content/Su ... 20-%20Main
3. CF card importer does not import any images.
Workaround is to drag and drop through Mac OS Finder instead.
It can result in loss of images, if this occurs files from CF card can be recovered with Rescue PRO that comes with every Sandisk CF card.
4. Reports about instability have also been given but Phase One Technical Support has yet been able to verify this.0 -
Yes, I understand that Eric, but the fact remains that at this stage the software doesn't work with my system and there has been little to no hint from phase one as to when we can expect any kind of recovery.
As to why I 'Upgraded' to leopard so soon : I didn't - it was done for me as a surprise! Shocking.
I won't be retrograding my system back to Tiger, though, because I think as soon as I do, the software I need to work will suddenly be made to be compatible with leopard. I haven't got the time...
All I want to know is how long I have to wait, as I make money from this software, and right now it's not earning it's keep!0 -
Hi there,
New to this forum. My dad just got a Leica M8, and a new iMac, and whilst helping him set up I also came across the problems mentioned above.
It there any indication at this stage of a potential release date for this update/new version that will solve the compatibility problems with leopard?
I'd love to be a able to join a mailing list of some sort that would let me know.
thanks.0 -
Hi Jem,
We are working on a possible subscription feature to the Knowledge Base which would allow users with Phase One profiles to subscribe to Knowledge Base article updates. This would allow the updates to be emailed to you and would prevent you from having to continuously check the site for new information. We are working on this concept and do not have a definite date of implementation yet.
A new version of Capture One that supports Leopard will be released soon. Again, no definite date has been set as of yet. When it is released it will be available here: http://www.phaseone.com/Content/Downloads/COforMac.aspx
I also recommend subscribing to RAW NEWS for updates: http://www.phaseone.com/layouts/login.aspx0 -
Rebecca,
Thank you for your reply. I'll keep an eye on that page you linked to. If I could just ask one more question.
The Leica M8 came with a free Capture One LE CD. Now, obviously it's no good at the moment, but when the update comes do you know whether it will be a free upgrade/update, or whether my dad will have to purchase a new version.
Thanks again,

Jem, software updates are always free. If you follow the workaround Ulf posted you will be able to use Capture One LE with the M8. 0 -
Have we got a date yet for the compatability issue with Leopard........everyone else has fixed the problems.....Alien Skin, fantastic, all their software updated within 2 weeks. New Canon 1ds MK lll, photoshop didn't work but they have fixed it with a new plug-in......why are we waiting for Capture One ??

The question about why anyone should upgrade to Leopard so soon after launch needs to be addressed.
I upgraded immediately and haven't been sorry. Sure, I have to use a work-around to shoot tethered with my Canons but shooting with a Phase back is no problem. The headaches that come with Leopard are balanced, at least for me, by the great features in Leopard. My favorite is Back To My Mac. Since Phase and other software developers make it so difficult for one user to use the software on more than one machine, Back To My Mac in Leopard helps me resolve some of those inconveniences. I can now access my desktop mac at the studio from my mac at home and work on the studio computer (with all of it's registered software) from the comfort of home. I can do the same thing when on the road with my laptop and a high speed internet connection.
However, even though some of us have no sympathy for early adopters, Phase really needs to get themselves in gear. What about their new customers who buy a new Phase and a new Mac that comes with Leopard pre-installed?
Come on, Phase: You can do it. Just do it soon.0 -
can i get my money back so i can go and spend my cash on something that works? 0 -
Hi,
I have capture one LE that came with my M8. I just bought a new macbook w/ Leopard. This workaround does not seem to work for LE... it has trouble copying the executable file into the applications folder. Is there a different workaround for LE? Is there an ETA on a compatible version?
thanks.

Hi,
I just bought my M8 and the Capture One LE version is 3.7.6.
When I do the workaround provided, when dragging the Capture One app over into the application folder, it says that the "alias is not recognized and cannot be used in this architecture".
Is there a workaround for this earlier version instead?
Thanks

Jon, I've got the 3.7.6 CD with the CD Key. Now that I have downloaded the 3.7.7 version, can I use the same CD Key to activate the license?
