unusable on Surface Pro 3 i7
I am very disappointed with Capture One Pro. I am a long time Lightroom user and have really wanted to make the change to Capture One. I find the rendering of my Sony raw files to be MUCH better in C1. However, C1 10 is simply unusable on my Surface Pro 3. I have the i7 processor, 8 GB RAM and plenty of space on the disc.
I've been testing a very small catalog of 325 raw files. The import went very quickly, but after that it was all downhill. I can't browse through the different files without waiting for 2-5 seconds for the preview to render. Once the preview is there, I can't even switch tools without waiting seconds. It's just a horrible experience. On the same computer Lightroom and Photoshop is blazing fast even with tons of layers in Photoshop. I just don't understand why C1 10 can't function on this machine.

Ouch! I was thinking about giving myself the v10 upgrade for Christmas.... (c8
I currently run C1 v9 on a custom built Windows 10 PC and a Surface Pro 3 i7.
I've seen other threads where the Graphics Card Driver was the culprit (Intel HD5000 on the SP3).
What version of Win10 are you running? I've had problems with Insider Builds taking a while to gain support from C1 (v9).
I'd hate to take a step out into the unknown and run into a show stopper.
Did you open a ticket? Have you had any response or figured out a solution?
Bah Humbug....

Why not download V10 and take advantage of the free 30 day trial period?
Is there a need to run insider builds of Windows V10?

I have other things to do with my time. I have a perfectly working v9 on my PC and Tablet.
Problems are being reported - like in the original post. Why bother on the off chance it may work?[quote="SFA" wrote:

Yes, please don't start.
Test new buggy C1 software - GODD
Test new buggy Win10 software - BAD
I actually expect v10 to not have issues with the Insiders Build. They seem to have gotten past the deprecated runtime libraries with v9.
Best regards,

Well, really only because using just a few minutes of your time you would be able to satisfy your curiosity using your setup and knowledge about whether or not to give yourself a Christmas present.

If my tablet runs as slow as the original poster's does and I can't figure out why, I have several several choices.
Leave it installed and unusable with the hope that it may be fixed eventually
or
Roll back to version 9 and hopefully not lose any presets or other data
I simply prefer to wait and see how this issue works out. Hopefully someone from C1 can test this and report back.
It's much easier to criticize a person's choices than it is to address the problem with the product.

No need to roll back Peter, if you install alongside.0 -
Hi guys. It appears that the problem for me lies mostly with Metadata set to sync always. When I can be it to read or none the performance improved dramatically. As I mentioned, I am a brand new C1 user (still evaluating the trial), so I can't speak to if this is a new issue on v10 or if it was the same in v9.
With the metadata syncing turned off the performance is satisfactory.0 -
I use C 1 10 on a Surface Pro 3 similar spec when travelling without problems. 0 -

Hopefully Santa will bring me a copy.... (c8

Hey, I am using it on a Wacom 16" i7. Capture 10 runs fine. What you probably have overlooked is that it takes a while for capture one to render the previews. After this is done all should be much faster. 0 -
I have the same problem. Several seconds to wait as soon as I hit something in CO10 with my pro 3 surface.
Sincerely, it is unusable while versions 8 and 9 worked very well. Unfortunately I can not go back because the whole catalog is in version 10.
Yet to work I have to go fast. The customer is in front of me and he sees how I look like a fool with a program that does not work 😊 My shoot tonight will be under LR. But I like CO and I would like to find a solution!0 -

FIrstly have you made sure that the XMP Sync facility is turned off?
Secondly there is no need to shoot straight into a catalogue.
Thirdly if you updates your catalogue to V10 C1 will have made a copy of it as it was in V9.
If you have not deleted that copy you should be able to go back to it - although obviously it will only contain your work up to that time. Maybe not ideal if you are running a managed catalogue.
However if you are shooting a session with the client present I cannot think of a better approach than working with a C1 Session anyway.
