why must I enter my serial number and profile password?

why must I enter my serial number and profile password to update every little version. to go from 7.1.5 to 7.1.6 to 7.2, etc.?
Its a hassle - can we fix this? especially when you manage computers for different people.

    Hi Edward,

    I have seen similar reports here occasionally. Only a few users seems to be affected (in contrast with your experience). I have no clue what causes this. Permissions perhaps (do repair permissions).
