    Hi,
    - Nikon D3 NEF files
    - set either BW, BW panchromatic or BW Yellow Filter as an ICC profile
    - Close C1
    - Start C1
    - Event message: "failed to load image settings"
    - the photo is set to default development settings (all settings for that photo are lost).
    - The .cos file for that photo is deleted.

    The same here ...

A workaround is to set the saturation slider to 0 for a BW conversion.
But it's not the same in terms of flexibility.

the profiles are found in the 'Q' Quick tab's Base Characteristics region.

I get the same problem (resetting of images with BW profile) applied on Nikon D200 NEFs.

Looks like I've joined the club.

As a work around I actually use the exposure preset "High contrast" but as pointed out before. It's not the same in terms of flexibility.

If somebody find a solution or has some functional B&W ICC profiles (I also would appreciate more B&W Profiles like "with red filter", "with blue filter" and so on.. please drop me a line or send an email.

...and it seems that I found a solution very quick 😄 😄 😄

It seems, that CO4 (or Windows) can not handle the "&" character. I've just removed that from the filenames in "Program Files\\Capture One 4\\Color Profiles\\Common"
and the profiles work as designed 😊

    e.G.:

    Phase One Effects - B&W Panchromatic.icm

    changed to:

Phase One Effects - BW Panchromatic.icm

and everything is good 😂 😂
