Focus tool and loupe don't work

This is what the Focus Tool shows on my screen. This also happens when I click on the loupe :

  Try with OpenCL for Display to Never. Restart CO8 after changing the value (should not be necessary, just to be sure).

  I have tried already. No joy. ☹️
  
  Edit 1 : the focus tool works up to 33%. The loupe doesn't work.
  
  Edit 2 : the picture in the main window (the one on which I work on the photos) becomes becomes blurry of I zoom above 33%.
  
  [Windows 7 Pro, two monitors.]
  
  Edit 3 : I imported photos in a new session. Here is what I can see :

  ...when I try to import and open D810 NEF files. You can use the conversion program to convert the NEFs to D800E in exif and those will open and be processed correctly in CO7.

  You're using unsupported file format for the RAW.
  Please use compressed RAW.
