Lens correction for Nikon lenses
Hi everyone, I'm new here.
I downloaded trial versions of Nikon Capture NX 2 and Capture ONE 4.6 Pro.
To choose wch one to buy.
Any suggestions will be appreciated.
I have one question about C1pro.
Am I right that it can not correct (no support) Lens's chromatic aberration, purple fringing and vignetting? Any ideas how to deal with LC in C1pro?
Thanks in advance,
Encho Naydenov

Hi, welcome to the forum. You should be able to use lens correction with your Nikon lenses in CO4 Pro. On the Lens tool tab, Lens Correction Tool, you have see on the 4th line: Chromatic Aberration: None. Open the drop down list and select analyze.
After the analysis the Chromatic Aberration checkbox below becomes available. You can decide whether or not you like to apply the analysis.
Next, you can save the lens analysis as a preset. Click in the upper right corner of the tool on the triangular shaped symbol and select 'Add preset'.
In case you have a Nikon D3x, you should get the latest 4.6.2 release. See its release notes for details.0 -
Yes , I have D3x
I downloaded 4.6.2. and everythig works fine now.
Thank you very much.
I'm going to buy C1pro 4.6.2.
So, now is the moment if anyone could tell me any reason to buy Capture NX 2 instead.
Thanx again0 -
I can't comment on NX2.
As a raw file collector and afficionado, is there any chance of making a D3x (FX and/or DX size) NEF available for download? I would be very grateful if it is not to much of a hassle for you. Thanks!0 -

You could use the You Send It service to upload a few NEFs. It is free to 100MB uploads. When you upload the files enter your own mail address as the one you like to send the file to. As a result you will receive a link after the upload to YouSendIt succeeded and you can paste the link into a message on my web site's Contact page (link in my user's profile here).
In case you have a DX lens, I would love a DX raw file as well to test raw software for its support.
Thanks again.0 -

actually they have a lot of camera reviews w/ raw files attached (not for all cameras of course)

enjoy (although I think that you should be aware about that website already)...0 -
Thanks Dee, I am aware of the site of Imaging Resource. I am after a DX NEF mainly, which I was not able to find there. 0 -
I don't have any DX lens, so I can't make any pictures with DX lens
If there is anything else I can do...0 -
