Start with File menu > Verify (regarding point 2 and perhaps point 1 also)

Regarding point 1, please reference this thread as I see a similar issue if I am not misunderstanding.

Hi Paul, in reply to 1:

checked image but no masks, no layers, 8 Bit JPEG RGB color space. Created a new session catalog and imported images. All images are able to process, except this image. Checked image in Photoshop if I could find any trouble but it seems a normal JPEG image file.

Exported image from C1 with no trouble. Seems, that the process feature has a bug. Get no errors, so not sure were to search.

You could save the JPEG image again in Photoshop and import it again in a different session or catalog or in the same catalog you have but with a different name. Next, try to process and try to export as well.

If all fails, I suggest to contact support.

Thanks, that was what I did as I said, I imported it again in a new catalog. It didn't help in case of processing. Exporting still works.

Today I did a big step and imported my whole Aperture Library into C1. All went fine. In-between I had made some edits on new shooted RAWs in another catalog of C1 and imported that catalog into the big catalog with the Aperture images too. Nearby 54 thousand images imported painless with metadata, cropping and rating fine.

But at that point I thought, I like to move some images from one Album to another. I selected just 250 images and moved them to the new album and got a color wheel. After five minutes of unresponsive C1 crashed.

Should I stay with Apple Aperture and use C1 only for developing new RAW files, which I export then as 16 bit TIFF files and import afterwards into Aperture?

Had after import of Aperture Library and removing Library from disc, in C1 catalog an empty reference of that file path to the Library and some no longer used images. Tried to delete that finder folder in C1 catalog and C1 crashed after three minutes of unresponsive. Hmm, can this be happen because I have no admin user level?

    Btw:

I have C1 Pro 8.3.3 on a MacBook Pro 2015 with 500 GB SSD and 16 GB of RAM. This should be fine for using C1, isn't it?

Admin level privileges should not matter, to the contrary. I never use admin privs for my work.

Have you done a repair permissions lately on your system? That can make a *big* difference.

    No repair needed, Paul.

    I am a bit lost.

I meant the use of Disk Utility (an OS X tool in the Programs/Utilities folder) > Repair Permissions.

It is a kind of regular maintenance and Capture One loves it when you do that regularly.

Hope it makes any sense now?

Hi Paul, I did a Permissions repair on my system drive. Yes, there were some permissions to repair like printer settings and of course quicktime components, which I saw have to repaired each time I use that tool.

Inbetween I gave up using C1 for managing my images. In this case Aperture is much better. C1 is in case of RAW developing much better then Aperture, but I will think about, if this is enough for me to use C1 any longer.

    Thanks.

Well ... only you can judge whether the quality in RAW conversion CO gives you is enough to stay with it. I did (obviously), but i'm also using something else to perform the DAM function. CO is not ready for prime time yet IMHO. On top of that, i am of the opinion that those 2 functions shouldn't be mixed in one application.

Anyway, good luck on making your choice. I do know there are quite some people who stayed with Aperture for image management and went for CO as a RAW converter.
