Grayscale images editing suport in cOne

Hi Cristian,
Two questions if you don't mind. First, could you educate me regarding the benefit of gray scale over the RGB format besides smaller files (versus toning B&W images with RGB). Where does printing benefit?
Second, what are you missing with the current gray scale output options in CO6 (5 different gray scale profiles)?0 -
Hi,
First of all, it was as request for a nice to have feature, and not an complaint 😊
I would like to keep cOne in my workflow as much as possible. I'm starting by exporting the images from cOne to, for example, an external application like Silver Efex Pro / Photoshop. I do my work there and save the files as grayscale (1/3 in size, compared to a RGB image). I would like, afterwards, to came back in cOne and have the option to fine tune all of them since is easier when you can see the entire collection.
cheers,

On the benefits of greyscale; Having a file 1/3rd of the size can be quite important when it's a file from a scanner. A 4x5 or similar neg scanned at 4800dpi can easily exceed the 250MB-ish limit that C1 has on image size - so reducing it to a greyscale gets it under that size limit - but as it stands, then you can't edit it. Of course having an image 1/3rd the size matters less at the typical file sizes for raw files.
