"Copy from Items with Same Name" script not working
Hope I'm doing this right. I selected .cr2 files that were annotated with Catalog Sets and User Fields.
JPGs in the identical folder were added to the db. Their names are identical except the suffix is jpg instead of cr2. The script prompt screen pops up and I click OK. Nothing happens and JPGs don't pick up annotations.
Using Win7pro x64. MP 1.5.0.134

Since the script isn't working (for me at least) is there another way to get annotations from raws to the final equivalent jpgs? Thanks.
God I love this app!!! That is not sarcastic. It is so freaking fun to manage everything with it 😄0 -
Hi Nick,
Try John Beardsworth's "Sync_files with same names" script which can be found here.
Otherwise Photo Mechanic can sync metadata using Update IPTC/XMP.0 -
Thank you much! My fingers are crossed! 0 -
Wow, it ran beautifully. Have emailed the John about possibly adding support for catalog sets. Almost there... Thank you so much for pointing me in the right direction.
May I ask... Media Pro lists various scripts in the Scripts menu, but the scripts folder is empty. Are they stored in another folder?0 -
Here is what I found (PC user).
Catalog Set terms are not copied by the built-in script or the one created by John Beardsworth. The solution in my case was to stop using Catalog Sets and switch to Custom Fields.
The built-in script now works perfectly. Not sure when it started supporting multiple files or if it always did. It seems to now.
The script by John Beardsworth is very old and he no longer supports it. I was mistaken in saying that his ran perfectly. The script that ran was the built in one. Didn't realize that scripts dropped into the scripts folder appear in the root menu item of the scripts menu. The submenu categorized scripts are (obviously) the built ones.
Thank you MP developers! I am starting to feel iView happiness again. Hope others are experiencing this apps potential. There is nothing on earth like it. So glad I did not jump to LR or anywhere else!0
