Best ways to learn C1? and 5.x?
Hello,
I'd like to experiment and use C1 Pro, and am coming from a ACR and LR background. My belief is that good results come not from using a great device but knowing how to use a device proficiently. What are good efficient ways to become proficient with this software? Are there thorough tutorials available? Other means?
Also, what is P1's policy for software upgrades? Isn't version 5.0 due out in a month or so? How much do things change around between releases with respect to a newbie's learning?
Thanks so much, Ralph

A very good question, especially for myself. I just made the investment for Capture One 4.8 Pro, and am now wondering how much more is needed as an investment in the software. While I like to be up to date, I am definitely feeling a strain on my budget on various software upgrades and acquisitions this year. 0 -

if you have money to spend you can try www.capture-u.com (there are some free stuff too) or you can just monitor various forums for postings related to C1, reread the supplied tutorial and experiment yourself to understand the tool.0 -

If you just purchased, be sure to get familiar with your user account. Listed there are the upgrades you qualify for. I am not familiar with the present license, but PhaseOne has been very liberal with their policies Vis a vis upgrades...it might suprise you to learn what you will need to invest for V5 ;>)0 -

I have not bought C1, and today emailed P1 my question and the reply is $99 to upgrade versions. So it'd be a $99 waste / premium to buy this month and upgrade in a month or two versus waiting a bit.0 -
There are video tutorials available here:

Has anyone tried capture-u, and is it worth to spend the money? 0 -

I already made the investment after spending time researching and learning about C1 Pro. If I really have to spend another $99, so be it though I am not going to be rushing to do it. The upgrade is still a lot more reasonable than Adobe every time they decided to jump a version. My move to C1 Pro was not made lightly.0
