    Hey,
    Shooting tethered as you describe and for the situation also described, will work fine, provided that the dogs are not moving about like mad. Files get transferred into the folder (capture), quite fast depending on your Laptop type and speed. I use a Mac G4 (rented) and also, just used a newer Intel Duo-core with I think 2ghz processing speed. Set up a new session and name it, and the sw will almost take care of it self. You can even create additional folders in the capture folder to point each new shot to. All that said, shooting tethered will be great provided you understand the basic functionality and initial set up, required of the UI, to point the files to (folders). Once that is accomplished the rest should be easy. It is wrangling them dog's that should be a pain in the arse! Good luck!
