It seems that nothing happened, and today I was speeking to a PhaseOne official at Focus on Imaging trade fair in Birmingham UK. Unfortunately I do not remember his name, but he told me that if P1 would do DNG capture one software would die... I also asked about if they (PhaseOne) should assist Adobe/Apple to make their new apps Lightroom/Aperture PhaseOne friendly. The answer was NO, same reason, it would kill the sales of Capture One.
It is a lame excuse. Today many DSLR shooters mostly Canon use C1 to process their raw files since the quality is far better than ACR. Personally I would like to use Lightroom to make previews and presentations to my customers, and continue to use CaptureOne to develop the files that I make large enlargements from. Ome of the big differnces for me is that with C1 I can use custom camera ICC profiles which I make in GMB ProfileMaker Pro 5. ACR can not use custom profiles at all. I know several DSLR shooters that use Magnes (ETC) custom profiles along with C1 and they are thrilled about the results and they would never develop a RAW file with ACR.
I think PhaseOne officials have to reconsider their standpointa about DNG and third party support.

Leaf does it, Hasselblad does it. If Phase one continues to remain the only MF back manuf. that do not let third pary developers implement Phase RAW developing into their apps, I think that PhaseOne will lose back buying customers.

    Please reconsider !

BTW ! You are not getting any money from me (P30 owner) since I use the free app. CaptureOne DB... What ist there to lose ? C'mon lets face it. You are up against two competitors with similar products that have better screens for instance...

    This is quite interesting.
I do not know if the person was misinformed, but I would suspect so.
DNG has been promissed and it is in the roadmap.
It is true it has been pushed back when other features have had higher priorities such as support for P45, P30 and P21, support for Intel based Macs etc etc.
When it comes to Adobe / Apple they are free to implement Phase One support in the same way that we that we have implemented support for so many 35mm cameras in Capture One.

    Well, Ulf !

That is how he actually responded to my question. But I can not remember his name, it was too long and I met so many people that day, but he is danish and has been living in Halmstad speaking quite good swedish. Trine Voss was also part of this discussion, but I have to confess 🤭 I did not understand her...

I have just been in contact with Phase One Denmark, including Trine Voss and nothing has changed, she concur with my statement that we will do it but it has been pushed back because of the reasons I gave in the previous post.
