Newbie Question Coming From Lightroom

    During import you can choose where they go, either into the catalog or somewhere else. You can also first import into the catalog and then move the images to a referenced location.

    I see. That prompts another question. Is it ok to have a mixed or hybrid environment? In this case to have the Lightroom photos referenced and then to have future imports in the catalog?

    Absolutely, you can do both in the same catalog. E.g. when I import new photos go into the catalog and stay on the internal and fast SSD disk. Here I can do my first edits, keywording etc. on the laptop. Once a shoot is ready I connect the external disk that holds the referenced raw files and then move the images of a shoot into a folder on that disk (all within C1) and from that moment on they are referenced image in C1.
