Process Recipe - Keeping raw
Hi, I have searched in the documentation but failed to find anything about this. I have a workflow that requires me to store my output files (from a recipe) to a NAS (Network Attached Storage). The output files are processed in various sizes (x by y) depending on the original lens used and it's ability to resolve details. A huge portion of the images does not need resizing at all and hence I can actually keep the Sony RAW as is, but the process recipe forces me to convert it to other file formats. I normally use TIF. However, I would like to have the process engine to process the images that needs resizing and just copy the raw file to output for those that does not need processing (keeping 6000x4000 resolution). Now my MAC spends 2-3 hours just converting the raw to TIF for no reason. After this step, I import all files into Lightroom which can read Sony raw, so the TIF conversion is wasted time.
Is it possible to make a process recipe that just copies the raw as is without conversion? I guess I can select the images and manually move them, but it is convenient to have a recipe that automates this. One less step to remember...

A RAW file is not a picture: it contains the raw data from the camera sensor. Capture One shows you its interpretation of those data (which is different from Lightroom's interpretation), but in order to get a proper picture file, you need to process to an output format (TIFF, JPEG, whatever). 0 -

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I know that RAW is raw data, but Lightroom is perfectly capable of dealing with these files as well so I still want to skip the step of converting it to TIF first.0 -
OK, but you won't get the same look in Lightroom. If it's still what you want, then I guess the only option from within Capture One is to use the "Export > Originals" item in the contextual menu (right-click). 0 -
@Micromundus
..... and you can include adjustments (e.g. cropping) !!0 -
Are you using Capture One as a cropping tool? 🤓 0 -

Yes, it is very efficient, and not so expensive 😁0
