Camera not showing up in the import dialog

Trying out Capture One (coming from LR) and really loving it so far. However, I cannot get my Sony a7r III to show up in the "Import from: source" dialog. The only thing I can do is pick a folder. Windows can see my camera is plugged into USB, and lightroom can ingest files from it as normal, so I'm not sure what's wrong?


I'm using a USB C connection straight to the Sony, rather than taking the SD card out. Any ideas?

    You'll probably find that when you connect the camera to the computer by cable, C1 thinks you want to do a tethered shoot. If you put your SD card in a reader or the slot in your computer if it has one, you should be fine.

    Ian3 is correct. It may be possible however, depending on your camera model/firmware, to set up the camera as a Mass Storage device, where it basically becomes an external card reader.
