I've just moved over to Imatch and am finding it really good at cataloguing, maybe give that a try?

In my opinion - the best way is no edit/ change metadata in C1. PSU is great software for cataloging and C1 for RAW editing.
Work with metadata only on one place

The same as point 1. Why do you want to have metadata (or what you you mean with metadata) in different programs like C1?

Ans where is the answer to his question?
Imatch makes here nothing better or worse than PSU.
