Are you using session or catalog system. In my experience session if faster to preview the images, while using catalog it is slow to preview the images.

I'm having the same problem, seems to take forever. Mac Pro 5.1 16gb RAM GTX 570 only use sessions.

Another problem is if I have say 500 images in a folder, it builds previews (According to activity viewer) for 350, stops then builds previews for 12, stops then builds previews for 222, doesn't seem to do them all in one go. (I've made up the numbers)
30 mins later it's still stop starting preview building, why doesn't it do them all in one go like Bridge?

I was contacted by support that there are still many issues that haven't gone into the 7.0.1 release. I would open a support ticket and report your issues. From what I gather, 7.0.2 will probably include the issues I'm dealing with that I reported a while back. Hopefully, your issues will be addressed in the 7.0.3 release down the road. If you're lucky, it'll be addressed in the 7.0.2 release. Since this is only a user forum, reporting issues here will not be reported to the Test Department.

I use sessions. It's just impossible to work with. I go from folder to folder all day long, working in photoshop and if capture one doesn't crash it takes 5 minutes plus to load the previews. I still don't understand how Bridge manages to load the previews instantly, but Capture one can't.

Definitely open a support case - the support team is usually pretty quick to respond (less than an hour in most cases).

If things are SUPER slow this probably won't completely solve the issue but might help a little bit.

Be sure that Capture is configured to generate previews that are as close to your working screen resolution as possible. That'll help prevent having to re-render previews multiple times for each image as you're moving around.

You can change this in the Preferences window under the Image tab. If you're working resolution is 1920x1080 for example, setting the preview size to be 2000px is a good starting place.

Also, there's definitely a correlation between how beefy of a machine you have and how many images per session Capture One can handle before stability starts going down - so keep that in mind as well.

    Good luck!

I got the fastest mac on the market, max ram, RAID 0. my main question is why Bridge is instant, and capture one is not. all versions of capture one has been slower than bridge.
