Metadata in C1
I probably missed it in the documentation somewhere, but I'm looking for a great explanation of how C1 Express handles metadata (aside from edits) with RAW, sidecars and JPGs. I see the "Load Metadata" and that seems to work fine.
But I can't seem to figure out all the conventions for outputing. I guess what I'd really like is C1's version of the LR command to write metadata to file (it will write to jpg or XMP, and you can set it to automatically do so or do it manually). I'd prefer to be able to write simple metadata like keywords, captions, rating and georef info without having to export a file.
thanks,
Rob

CaptureOne will never touch your original file.
Any Metadata will automatically been written into a file when it is processed for output.
So in your case:
- edit your metadata
- do your picture editing
- process all files
The final images in the output folder will contain your metadata.
The sidecar files open up metadata to 3rd party apps or scripting (I wrote a nice plugin which takes care of a couple of metadata edits on the fly based on templates...)0
