    Delete the CO5 preference file and/or recreate the session file and preview files (proxies folder in your image folder); otherwise, be more specific on your action when CO5 quits.

    From Capture One 4.8.1 but to what?
    There could be system compatibility issues with the new version you are running, whatever that may be.
