Capture One 4 Boxed

I am on the verge of purchasing a C1 4 (non-pro) license, and I have found it available in boxed form at several on-line e-tailers for considerably less (USD) than downloading from Phase One direct. This seems a little backwards to me; has anyone here purchased the boxed version in the US, and is it the same as the download version and eligible for all the same service release updates, etc?
