Catalog Folders listing damaged

On loading MediaPro several times now, the directory listing for catalog folders displays folder namss in the 8-character truncation that we used to see in Windows 3. eg: instead of My Documents, the display reads: MYDOCU~1, essentially crippling the catalog folders listing.

This has happened several times, as I say, and each time I have to rebuild from scratch.

There must be a solution!

Or is there?
