moving folders
Hello from the Swiss
I checked the tutorials about Media Pro, but I did not find examples how to proceed, when, by some reason, you want to move your pictures from one drive (or directory) to another. Can I move the files outside Media Pro and then reconnect to the catalogue? My german version does not really help me with the indications in the context menu…
I just want to move all pictures to a new drive, in a new directory and then be sure, that my catalogue still works correctly and does not loose his settings.
Thanks for help

Hi,
You can do both, move within Media Pro or outside and reconnect.
When moving outside of MP, do notice that the reconnecting seems to be per individual folder (unless you can point everything at once at root level). So, you move your files elsewhere and then in MP right click on the folder with "missing" files and choose 'Reset folder path'.
But, you could also mover all folders from within MP to the new drive. This would make MP stay up-to-date on the location of the files and retain all the metadata.0 -
Thanks for your support!
Moving folders in MP seems to be the best way. For dragging the old folder to the new place, I had to make e dummy directory with some pictures in the new place first and import it to the catalogue… because dragging is only possible, if the new place is visible.
Kind regards

PS I found the correct way in the pull down menu 'Actions'...0
