Because EM2 (Mac) relies on Apple core image raw support, it is indeed necessary to have installed the camera raw update. To check whether this is installed, you should be able to open your raw files from Finder, Preview, iPhoto etc. If not, install the latest camera raw update manually. If yes, there is a EM2 issue.

correct, that is why i mentioned it, since i know that some non Adobe apps rely on Apple to provide the system level support. since Apple released the update, the Finder, Preview, etc. are all "RW2 aware", but EM2 still can not import (or even see) these files.

Then you maybe better open a support case from the Phase One web site.

As of the last update for Expression Media 2 (SP2) Panasonic RAW files are not supported. Despite the OS' ability to read these files.

    What a crying shame. I use a Canon 40D, a Leica M9 and a Panasonic GF1.

I like EM2 but how am I supposed to commit to a program that can't catalog almost half of my output... sigh.

There are only so many gyrations I'm willing to go through. I was hoping to go to a C1 EM2 workflow. Sure wish PhaseOne would give us a hint as to whether they are writing off EM2 or closing in on a new version
