1Ds mkII tethered shooting problem
Hi all!
I try to tether my 1DsmkII to C1Pro, but no success. I receive a "Can't open camera" message when I connect it via USB, and when I try to connect it via the 1394, nothing happens...
I've tried the same on two computers - one with XP and one with VISTA - same result.
I've installed the latest drivers from the Canon site - nothing again.
I am starting to think that my camera is damaged ☹️

Tethering with the 1Ds mkII is done through the firewire (1394) port, not USB. You could try to make a connection with the Canon software like EOS Utility (former known as EOS Capture) to rule out any Capture One issues.
Damaged firewire ports on 1D/1Ds mkII cameras are not very unusual (it occurs).0 -
Well, I do think the 1394 port is damaged, as nothing happens when I connect it to a computer. I've used two different cables, thinking the one that I used to have is faulty.
When I've received the camera, I've made some settings on the Personal functions and the custom IPTC text (my name) and I remember I've done this thru the 1394 port.
I just can't remember if there was some kind of camera locking - locking these settings after they were set-up... Could this be the reason?
Well I posted this in the Mac part of the forum by mistake. Mods should move the thread in the PC forum.0 -
How can I check if the 1394 port is or isn't working? 0
